Back in 2018, in the heart of Utrecht - Netherlands' fourth largest city - I had one of my all-time favorite dinners at Spekuk.
The ordering format lent itself to sampling a wide variety of entrees - Select a small, medium, or large bowl and compose your own rames with several different items of from a list of about a dozen different Indonesian dishes, served with rice.
Spekuk has closed their restaurant, but the memory of that dinner has stayed with me, and I haven't been able to find a comparable experience since.
