Hidden in the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles, Manuela is the kind of place where you settle in, lose track of time, and order a few more things for the table. The warm, flaky biscuits are a must, and every dish feels thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients that let the food speak for itself. The venison burger, shrimp aguachile, and dragon beans were excellent as well. The space absolutely stunning, full of gorgeous plants and a veggie garden, and a chicken coop just beyond the open courtyard. Be sure to explore the Hauser and Wirth galleries also, and pop in for a few new art books at the onsite bookstore, Art Book.
