While there is certainly no shortage of delicious strip mall Thai restaurants in LA, few have reached icon status the way that Jitlada has.
Since the late 1970s, Jitlada has been serving authentic Southern Thai cuisine to everyone from food luminaries Jonathan Gold and Anthony Bourdain to The Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
Their menu is expansive, and everything on it is Thai spicy. Grab a few friends and try as many dishes as you can, including the Crispy Morninglory Salad, any of the curries, crispy pork, wings, and a seafood dish - I'm partial to anything with shells (crab, mussels, etc.).
The servings are plentiful and hot, so keep the water coming and dig in! 🌶
